Our
Services

Your home is your investment, and where your family makes memories. We help make it comfortable, beautiful and more sustainably built – within your budget.

Our specialty is helping you create expanded living space, whether that is a second story or other addition, or a backyard cottage or ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit). We are passionate about creating the space you want to live or work in – or build out for additional income – and having you enjoy the remodeling experience. We also care deeply about good craftsmanship and beautiful, livable spaces, whether you are maintaining the craftsmanship of an older home, or pushing the envelope with forward-thinking design. We work with you and your architect to help you realize your vision.

Our approach is to build for the future. First and foremost, this means building to last, with quality materials and quality workmanship. It means investing in customer relationships. Once we’ve done work for you, we hope to be your first call the next time you need something else done, large or small. We also believe in incorporating an earth-friendly approach into what we build and how we build it.

Second story additions

Kobban Builders Additions Bay Area
Many Bay Area homeowners that want to “trade up” to a bigger space realize that not only is it often more cost effective to build on a second story (versus buying a larger home), but that it lets you design it exactly how you want it. We have helped dozens of homeowners grow their homes as their families grow and need more space. We partner with you, your architect and other team members to help you realize the future vision for the space that you create so many memories in.

ADUs – Accessory Dwelling Units

Accessory dwelling unit

Some call them granny units, in-laws, or backyard cottages. Whether you want a space for your aging family member, an office, a guest cottage, art studio, or a separate rental unit, building an ADU can enhance your property value. Construction financing could potentially help get you there faster, and also help you tap grant dollars from the state of California.

We can help you coordinate the right team of experts for your project – from an architect with ADU experience and an understanding of local permitting, to a structural engineer and even connect you to experienced ADU lenders.

We shape our homes and then our homes shape us.
